Community Action Services and Food Bank is a non-profit organization in Provo, Utah that provides a two-step process to solving poverty: first, to stabilize the person and then rebuild their life. Since 1967, the agency has stabilized persons in need by meeting their basic critical needs (such as food and housing) while providing them with the long-term solutions needed to rebuild their financial and social self sufficiency, enabling them to break out of poverty.

Community Action Services in Provo is asking for help after it says one of its programs lost its main source of funding.

Community Action’s chapters in the Utah and Heber Valleys are now in jeopardy after Utah’s Department of Workforce Services decided not to select the program for the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) grant.

Today we honor the life and legacy of our Board President, Margaret Black.

For eight years, Margaret served Community Action Services and Food Bank with compassion, dedication and a deep commitment to helping individuals and families in our community. Her leadership, kindness, and advocacy made a lasting impact on our mission and on all who had the privilege of working alongside her.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. Margaret's legacy of service will continue to inspire us for years to come. đź’™
