WOONSOCKET Family!
In honor of Black History Month, I invite you to help us celebrate and preserve Black History right here in Woonsocket, RI.
Please share any photos, newspaper articles, or memories highlighting Black excellence in our city — past or present. Whether it’s educators, athletes, pastors, entrepreneurs, community leaders, or everyday trailblazers, their stories matter.
We often think of the greats — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Thurgood Marshall, Harriet Tubman, and others. But we don’t have to look far… we have greatness right here at home.
🖤 Our goal is to collect and curate these stories for a future community exhibit and/or program that honors Black history in Woonsocket. Your contribution can help ensure these legacies are preserved and shared with the next generation.
📸 Drop photos in the comments or send them via message
📰 Articles, names, and memories are welcome too!
Let’s honor the past, celebrate the present, and build something meaningful for the future — together.
