playing the open palm series put on by on april 26th. so many pals on the show and i’ll be paired up with my dear friend to sing a few.

would love to see you there, last night of reveling before i toss my bags on a bus and circle the country for a couple of months.

This Saturday night I’m opening up for one of my best pals, during her Nashville residency at the Analog. Nicole and her band put on legendary shows and I’ve got my dancing shoes ready.

Doors at 7:00pm and I’ll be on at 8:00pm sharp, followed by the wonderful .

really excited to open up for my bud in nashville on 2/21. her analog residency at the hutton has been a highlight of the winter months and i’ll be sharing the bill with the incredible .

it’ll be the first time in forever that i’ve played a proper show in nashville and i’ll be singing some songs off my upcoming record. i’d love to see you there.

the new record is on it’s way to mixing at the end of the month and there’s a music release on the horizon very soon.

Now that I’m finally home I’ve been making a habit of opening my front door just before the sun rises every morning. A physical manifestation of the intention I set last January. 2025 was all about letting the light of collaboration back into my life, and it did not disappoint.

The record went from a solo mission in my home studio to a tapestry of my favorite creative minds. I could fill three of these posts with all of the people who pitched in to make the first JC Coventry album, but I’d hate to give away the track list before you hear a note.

As much as my 40th year centered on making things, it was also a year of creating core memories with my family and friends. I’d like to think I made the most of rattling between coasts on a tour bus, not just living life in the in between. It was imperfect at times but the grace of others made it all so worth it.

Thanks so much to and .no for letting me play in your bands. No thrill bigger than tossing an instrument over my shoulder and making music with friends.

The first night of the Ben Folds holiday tour Ross looked at me and said “I can’t believe this is a job”.

Ending the year on the highest of notes, grateful for all the connection and creativity in my world these days.

The new jc coventry record that I made with is finished. Ten months after the first session and twenty minutes shy of a full moon.

Took a field trip out to Mitch Easter’s lovely Fidelitorium Studio last week to record some overdubs on the new record.

We also spent a couple of days tracking a song I wrote alongside one of my favorite collaborators, . Her voice and ideas are all over the new record. Mara has become such a creative force for good in my world this past year.

There’s also a last minute bonus track that was written and recorded before bus call, love a good stream of consciousness challenge.

What a perfect way to christen the new jc coventry era, back home in Rhode Island.

There was so much love in the Park Theatre last night, singing songs to a hometown crowd is always a soul filling experience. Deep gratitude to and his team for another in a long list of life affirming opportunities they’ve passed my way.

The new record is still some months out but there’ll be a song or two to soundtrack your long drives by the fall.

For the past two years I’ve been traveling around the country with - writing a record on days off in hotel rooms, coffee shops, and in the stairwells of theaters. This winter I took the demos of those songs to , who produced the hell out of a record that is just about to wrap up.

This is the first show playing those songs in the wild and it feels fitting that it’s back home in Rhode Island. Before it got announced my friend made a small request of me, “you gotta change your band name.” She offered a simple moniker, my initials and my hometown.

I gotta say it felt strange at first, I’m not always an easy sell on shifts like this. There was nine years, two albums and an extended play, my first national touring as an artist, all wrapped up in I&R. But the truth is it had stopped resonating with me, it felt more like an attempt to hide behind my art rather than be seen for it. I’m happy to say the change feels good, in a time of heaviness on a lot of fronts, the music making feels lighter.

I’m going to be at tonight, playing some songs I made up before my friend Ben takes the stage. It’s a new thing and it’s same as it ever was. I hope to see you there.
