Hello wonderful supporters of Lo**ta Express!
So much has changed in the world since we last reached out, and we hope you are safe and healthy and finding moments of joy wherever you can.
We are thrilled to let you know that Lo**ta Express is finally finished! It was an unexpected challenge to navigate post-production amidst a pandemic. With team members located in Los Angeles, New York, Providence and Toronto, we had to get creative at times and we definitely learned a lot along the way!
This film was inspired by the brave survivors of an international s*x trafficking ring. S*x trafficking is a threat to young girls around the world. We hope this film raises awareness and provides a glimpse into the life of young girls who live with this reality every day.
A virtual screening is in the works, so keep your eyes peeled! And we will be sure to send updates as we apply to festivals and send Lo**ta off into the world.
Thank you for making this labor of love possible.

The trailer for Lo**ta Express is finally here! From a reading of Octavia's play at Brown in 2017, to producing a workshop at Cherry Lane in 2018, and finally the short film adaptation in 2019. The news of Epstein's arrest broke the night before we began filming, and I think our director puts it best when summing up the film as a love letter to survivors.
I am proud to introduce Lo**ta Express as Houselight's first film production. THANK YOU to our executive producers and all of our donors and supporters. This would not have been possible without you.

A still shared by our wonderful DP : “Throwing back to a project this summer that’s about to go into color - Lo**ta Express. This was one of the most rewarding and powerful shorts I’ve worked on, written & directed by and produced by , about the Epstein-led ring and its effect on the young women who were essentially imprisoned in paradise. We went into production JUST as the news of his arrest broke, and it set an incredible and sensitive tone for the work each day.”
