Authors M.T. Anderson, Mary Cappello, and Dawn Paul discuss how fiction bends, disrupts, and redefines the stories we tell. Discussion will be moderated by Kate Wells, Rhode Island Collection Librarian at the Providence Public Library.
MT Anderson is a National Book Award Finalist for The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Vol. I and the New York Times Notable Book author of Feed. His most recent book, Symphony for the City of the Dead, is part biography of Dimitri Shostakovich and part essay on the importance of art in times of terror. Professor Mary Cappello (URI) is author of the memoir Called Back about her reply to cancer. Her most recent book, Life Breaks In: A Mood Almanac, is a work of essays about the ever-shifting landscape of human emotion. Dawn Paul's fictionalized-memoir, The Country of Loneliness, explores her relationship with her distant father.
