Crossroads Rhode Island
The mission of Crossroads Rhode Island is to help those experiencing homelessness secure stable homes.
"We ended up at Crossroads' Family Shelter and I finally felt like we're where we need to be."
Melissa is a courageous client whose full story will be shared during our Women Helping Women fundraising event on May 6. After surviving an abusive relationship, she found her way from homelessness to home for herself and her children.
Get a first look at Melissa’s powerful journey in this short teaser and join us at the WaterFire Arts Center on May 6 to hear the rest of her inspiring story.

Last week, we officially opened three newly transformed outdoor spaces at our 160 Broad Street headquarters, designed specifically to prioritize the safety, health, and dignity of our clients:
🌸 The Women's Shelter Courtyard: A private outdoor area for women staying in our shelter, now with shade, improved landscaping, added privacy, and better drainage.
🚪Main Entrance Streetscape: Expanded sidewalks, planters, and redesigned pedestrian flow to improve safety and visibility along Broad Street.
🌳Day Client Courtyard: A new space featuring solar-powered charging stations, a water refill station, and seating designed for comfort and connection.
At the heart of it all is a simple but powerful idea: small changes in environment can make a big difference.

We were thrilled to host our friends from Cox and RI House Speaker Joe Shekarchi for a special hard-hat tour of our upcoming Health and Housing Apartments!
Once completed later this year, this first-of-its-kind facility will offer 35 permanent supportive apartments for medically vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness.
Thank you for stopping by to check out the progress!

401Gives Everyone needs a place to call home. Housing ends homelessness. That is why we are committed to housing individuals and families as quickly as possible.
One of the most impactful ways to support Crossroads during 401Gives is by creating your own peer-to-peer fundraising page and inviting your network to give to Crossroads.
Thanks to the generosity of John and Karen Galvin, every 401Gives gift will be doubled up to $20,000. Plus, if 250 donors give by 6 p.m. on April 1, an additional $5,000 match will be unlocked!

Joshua McCombe’s story is a powerful reminder of why housing solutions like rapid rehousing matter.
After losing their longtime apartment, Joshua and his family spent two years moving between motels and shelter before finally moving into a Pawtucket apartment. That stability has made all the difference for Joshua and his children as they rebuild after an incredibly difficult chapter.
Programs like rapid rehousing help families move more quickly from homelessness back into stable housing, while providing the support needed to stay there.
We’re grateful for the dedication of case managers like Jessica Aviles, who work every day to help families navigate complicated systems and find a path forward.
Thank you to The Providence Journal and Wheeler Cowperthwaite for telling Joshua’s story with such care and thoughtfulness.
