🎉 A new connection for Providence is officially open!
This Monday, we were thrilled to host the ribbon cutting celebration for the new Kinsley Avenue & Promenade Street Greenway alongside the many partners, elected officials, funders, and community members who helped make this project possible.
This Greenway makes Farm Fresh RI and the Valley neighborhood more accessible to people traveling by foot or by bike, while creating new opportunities to explore and enjoy the Woonasquatucket River. It's a wonderful example of how thoughtful public spaces can bring communities closer together!
We're grateful to the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, the City of Providence, and everyone whose vision, collaboration, and commitment brought this project to life.
Following the ceremony, attendees joined guided tours to learn more about the history of the area and the remarkable transformation of the river corridor over time.
One of our favorite discoveries? The site where Farm Fresh RI now stands was once slated to become a major wholesale food market—a vision that was never realized, but one that makes our mission to connect people with local food feel especially fitting today.
Even the geese got in on the action, celebrating with a feast of local serviceberries in our garden!
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone for our community! 🚲🌱

We’re excited to share that $200,000 in funding for our Bonus Bucks program has been included in Rhode Island's FY2027 budget and signed into law by Governor Dan McKee! 🎉
This marks the first time Rhode Island has made a direct state investment in this vital food access initiative. Bonus Bucks doubles the value of SNAP benefits spent at participating farmers markets, making healthy food more affordable for families while creating new opportunities for local farmers and food businesses.
We are deeply grateful to Representative Susan Donovan for leading this effort, Representative Teresa Tanzi for her advocacy through the House Finance Committee, the bill's co-sponsors, House and Senate leadership, and Governor McKee for recognizing the importance of investing in food access and local agriculture.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this milestone possible. Together, we're ensuring more families can access fresh, locally grown food!

We’re thrilled to share that Farm Fresh Rhode Island has received a $50,000 grant from UNFI as part of their 50th anniversary celebration! 🎉
To commemorate this milestone, UNFI is supporting 50 organizations across all 50 states, and we’re honored to be selected as a recipient in Rhode Island.
This unrestricted funding will provide valuable support for Market Mobile, helping us connect local farmers and food producers with schools, hospitals, retailers, and other wholesale buyers throughout the region. Investments like this strengthen local farms, expand market opportunities, and help build a more resilient food system for everyone.
Thank you, UNFI, for your generosity and for believing in the power of local food. We are deeply grateful for your partnership and support!

Growing community, together 🌱
A huge thank you to Southside Community Land Trust for once again donating leftover seedlings from their annual plant sale to Hope’s Harvest!
Since 2020, this partnership has helped thousands of vegetable, herb, and flower seedlings find new homes at food pantries across Rhode Island—creating more opportunities for people to grow fresh, healthy food right in their own communities.
We're grateful for Southside's continued generosity and for their shared commitment to strengthening local food access, one seedling at a time. 💚
