I went to NYC this weekend with my besties. It was a trip I was SO EXCITED for! NYC is my home & forever has my heart so anytime I get to go back is a good time.
While I did have an amazing time with amazing women I love so much, I also had a horrible time because I couldnāt help but think my body was failing me, yet again, the majority of the trip.
Every other thought was āam I getting enough protein/nourishing foods in?ā āam I hydrating enough?ā ādid I remember to take my supplements?ā ādo I look huge in this outfit because Im bloated?ā
It got to be so much that I actually broke down at brunch. Even though I had chosen the place, it was a last resort because the place we originally wanted to go ended up being closed. I had been there before & knew it was safe.
Now I was trying a new place that was 100% gluten free so I thought it would be fine. But with the first bite of my meal I instantly knew it was going to make me sick. And yet I was starving & had no choice but to eat as much of it as I could & accept the fact that now I wouldnāt feel good for the rest of the day.
I love traveling. I love experiencing new restaurants, new places, rediscovering old favorites, spending time with my friends in our old stomping grounds. It makes me sad that this isnāt something I can do as easily as they can. I often feel like Iām a burden or bringing the group down. They do the best job of reassuring me that Iām not but it is still something I will always feel āguiltyā about in the back of my mind.
Iām frustrated that healing isnāt linear.
I hate that COVID ruined any progress I had made & in fact set me back even further than where I first started.
Iām angry that this is my reality.
And yet Iām also grateful.
Iām grateful because through it all Iām learning so much about myself & my strength & my grit.
There are so many days where I want to just throw in the towel & say f**k it. Iām going to eat whatever I want because itās too hard to live any other way.
But in reality I know that giving up would be the hardest way to live.
So I keep going. For my health & for yours. Because we are in this together & I will never stop fighting for us. š«¶š¼

For years, I thought pushing through exhaustion and ignoring my body was just part of life. I worked in fast-paced environments, chased success, and told myself that being tired, run down, and overworked was normal. But deep down, my body was screaming for help, and I wasnāt listening.
Looking back on my journey, I can see the moments where everything started to shiftāfrom struggling with chronic fatigue, pain, and weight gain due to illness, to finally learning how to heal and care for myself. There were setbacks, rock bottoms, and moments of complete frustration, but each step taught me something invaluable.
Today, Iām more in tune with my body than ever. I know what it needs to thriveāa high-protein, gluten-free diet, daily wellness practices, and rest when it calls for it. My focus isnāt on weight anymore because Iāve realized that health and wellness are so much more than being thin. Theyāre about feeling strong, balanced, and at peace in your own body.
Iām sharing this because I know Iām not alone. Healing is messy, but itās possible, and it happens when we start listening to ourselves.
If youāve ever felt stuck, exhausted, or disconnected, I hope my story reminds you that youāre not brokenāyouāre learning.
As we step into 2025, my focus for this space is to build a community where we can heal, grow, and thrive together. Youāll still find plenty of recipes and collabs with brands I love that I want you to know about, but Iāll also be sharing more about my healing journey, too. After all, itās why I started this page in the first place.
I want this to be a space where you feel seen, supported, and encouraged to share your story too. So, letās make this a place where we can all feel supported & at home, kay?

Hitting your protein goals does not have to be hard OR boring š„±
Hereās exactly what I ate this week to hit 150 ish grams of protein (it actually was more like 157 but Iām not mad at it!)
All my meals are gluten free dairy free & egg free to help fight inflammation, balance my hormones & heal my gut.
And of course Iāve included dessert because letās face it, I want to it dessert daily so I might as well plan to eat nutrient dense treats that help me reach my daily protein goals!

I used to be lucky if I ate 90g of protein in a whole day š¤¦š»āāļø I truly didnāt understand the importance of eating enough food PERIODT. let alone eating enough protein each day.
When I learned just how important protein was, I STILL had trouble eating enough protein! I didnāt want to just guzzle protein shakes (even though I DO love a smoothie!) so I started playing around with different ways to sneak protein into my meals.
Here are a few of my fave high protein meals - and a couple sneaky treats too š¤ - that now help me hit my goal of 150g of protein per day!
