The Rhode Island Soccer Referee Committee (RISRC) is incredibly proud to recognize two outstanding referees who represented Rhode Island with excellence at the USYS National Championships: Steven Cordoso and Juliana Roa.

Competing at the national level is a tremendous achievement and reflects the dedication, professionalism, and hard work both officials have demonstrated throughout their referee careers.

We are especially proud to congratulate Juliana Roa on being selected to officiate a National Championship Final—one of the highest honors a referee can receive at the tournament. This appointment is a testament to her exceptional performances, commitment to excellence, and the trust placed in her by the national referee staff.

Steven and Juliana have represented RISRC with integrity, professionalism, and pride, serving as outstanding ambassadors for Rhode Island and inspiring the next generation of referees.

Congratulations, Juliana, on your Final appointment, and congratulations to both Juliana and Steven on an incredible tournament! We are proud of your accomplishments and look forward to seeing your continued success on the national stage.

What an incredible weekend at the Veterans Cup in Vermont! ⚽💚

It was truly an honor to be part of such a well-organized tournament, surrounded by talented referees, dedicated players, and an amazing soccer community. Experiences like this remind me why I love being a referee and giving back to the game.

A huge thank you to our outstanding leader, SRA Juan Montalvan, for his leadership, guidance, and dedication throughout the tournament.

In Loving Memory of Isaac Seekell

It is with profound sadness that we remember Isaac Seekell, a dedicated referee, teammate, son, brother, and friend. Isaac's passion for soccer, commitment to officiating, and positive presence on and off the field left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Isaac represented the very best of our referee community—professional, respectful, eager to learn, and always willing to support others. Though his time with us was far too short, his legacy will continue through the players, referees, coaches, and mentors whose lives he touched.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Seekell family, especially his father James and brother Caleb, during this unimaginable time.

May we honor Isaac by carrying forward the values he exemplified: integrity, dedication, kindness, and love for the game.

- Gone too soon, but never forgotten.

The Rhode Island State Referee Committee is proud to support the initiative. As part of this program, all referees under the age of 18 wear a green badge to help raise awareness and promote a positive match environment.

These young officials play a vital role in our game and are developing their skills with every match they officiate. It is essential that players, coaches, and spectators demonstrate respect and sportsmanship at all times.

We ask our soccer community to:

Thank you to all the referees who joined us for our AGM on March 21st at the CCRI campus. Your presence, engagement, and commitment to improving our referee community made the meeting truly meaningful. We appreciate the time you invested and the dedication you continue to bring to the game.

We had an incredibly successful week representing Rhode Island at the 2025 East Regional Championship last week in Loudoun County, Virginia!

Six referees were selected for playoff assignments after an intense three-day group stage, including four semi-final assignments and two finals assignments!

Additionally, Julianna Roa will represent Rhode Island at this month's USYS National Championships in Orlando, Florida for the second-straight year!
