Just some shots of my completed sanctuary, here in Providence. I have included some examples of vignettes to give you an idea how to position decor.

A vignette, for those of you unfamiliar with the design term, is a collection of objects/decor that are arranged in groups of odd numbers. The odd number rule is a well-established design principle.

In creating a vignette, careful attention should be paid to the relationship of objects with regard to height, dimension, color and proximity. In addition, the vignette should relate to the room as a whole, and particularly, to the furnishings in the immediate vicinity.

Playing with Pillows in Providence.

I just love layering throw pillows using a variety of textures, patterns and sizes.

For visual interest, it's best to arrange throw pillows based on the style of your Sofa and its dimensions.

As an interior decorator, I prefer not to overcrowd a sofa but to tastefully place each pillow with intention.

When it comes to decorative Bed pillows, less is more, unless you want to spend half you life arranging them!🤦‍♀️

Whether you are working with pillows or a styling a vignette, odd numbers rule.🥉 This is a well established design principle.

Here are examples of these techniques.

Have fun playing with pillows.

How to Choose an Interior Decorator in Rhode Island.

Want to know what most people don’t realize when choosing an interior decorator? 🤷‍♀️
The best interior decorators aren’t the ones who walk in with all the right answers…

They walk in with the right questions.

A thorough discovery process or lifestyle assessment is a green flag. It shows that your decorator wants to understand who you are, how you live, and what you actually need, before recommending new pieces.

You should feel seen, not sold to.

That's the difference between a decorator and the right decorator.

Here is how we brightened up this bedroom with updated furnishings and decor. We can do the same for you.

Providence loft makeover, just about complete. I am waiting for a candle holder for the center of the dresser to replace what is there.
