Not your average Saturday at the Citizens Fire Academy! 🔥🚒
This weekend, CFA participants headed to the Collin College Public Safety Training Center for a fun day of experiences. They donned full firefighting gear to extinguish a vehicle fire, rappelled down a five-story building and toured the specialized facilities used to train first responders.
From fighting fire at ground level to going five stories up, this was definitely one for the CFA memory books!

Prosper Fire Rescue is ready to hit the neighborhoods for National Night Out!
Join us Tuesday, October 6, from 5-8 p.m. for an evening of community connection right in your neighborhood. Prosper Fire Rescue, Prosper Police and Town leadership will be making their way around Town to visit registered block parties and meet with residents.
Hosting a block party? Be sure to submit your request form by Friday, October 2, so we can add your neighborhood to the evening’s visits.

Sometimes learning means cutting up a car! 🚗 Participants in the Citizens Fire Academy recently learned about vehicle extrication and the tools and techniques Prosper Fire Rescue uses during vehicle rescues.
Twenty-five years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.
This morning, Prosper Fire Rescue had the privilege of welcoming our community to Central Station for a special ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
Together, we remembered the lives lost, honored the first responders who answered the call and paid tribute to the extraordinary courage and sacrifice shown on one of our nation’s darkest days.
For the fire service, the legacy of 9/11 is deeply personal. We carry forward the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice through our commitment to service, courage and community.
Thank you to everyone who stood with us today in remembrance. Twenty-five years later, their legacy lives on.

Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
Join us this morning at 9 a.m. at Prosper Fire Rescue Central Station, 911 Safety Way, for a special 25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Ceremony. Come stand with our community as we remember, reflect and honor those we lost 25 years ago.
Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to visit a 9/11 museum and mobile memorial featuring a recovered beam from one of the World Trade Center towers.

Update 2:38: Power is shut off to the electrical box. The fire has been extinguished. At this time it does not appear there’s going to be any other power outages in the area.
TRAFFIC AND POWER ADVISORY: Prosper Fire Rescue is currently responding to an electrical fire resulting from a motor vehicle accident at the Homes2 Suites hotel in Gates of Prosper. Oncor is on scene working to address the impacted electrical infrastructure.
Residents and businesses in the Gates of Prosper and Downtown Prosper areas may experience intermittent power outages while crews work to safely resolve the incident.
Please use caution in the area and avoid the scene when possible. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Our crews were treated to breakfast and snacks as a special thank you for their service to the Prosper community. We’re grateful for community partners like H-E-B who take the time to recognize and support our first responders.

Every call matters. In August, Prosper Fire Rescue responded to 467 calls for service, helping keep our community safe day and night. Thank you to our firefighters for their continued dedication!
