It was more than sobering and humbling to be at the memorial for those who loved their family and friends. “Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life.”
Rodney is the first one of our American team to go back into Ukraine since the war began. Visiting orphanages and contacts in the midst of war and winter. 1-2 hours of electricity a day, with the unknown hanging over every move and decision.

Rodney’s recent visit to some of the displaced children still in Poland showed a powerful shift from survival mode to stability.

Even in the hardest circumstances, hope is still alive. These photos capture a Christmas celebration made possible because of faithful, generous hearts. For a moment, these children could simply be kids—laughing, celebrating, and feeling cared for.

In the middle of war, uncertainty, and loss, these children in Ukraine were able to experience joy, laughter, and celebration this Christmas. Food, treats, gifts, and time together may seem small, but to them, it meant being seen, remembered, and loved.

Christmas is fast approaching, and we long to bring light and joy to orphans who have been displaced to Poland by the war.
This year, one orphanage caring for 80 children has asked for something simple but deeply meaningful: a cozy winter kit for each child — pajamas, socks, slippers, hats, gloves, and a scarf. Our trusted partner in Poland will purchase these items locally and personally deliver them to the children.

IHC is also planning a special Christmas celebration for another large displaced group of orphans. They have requested a party with pizza, candies, cookies, cola, and other treats that are normally out of reach for them. These may seem like small things, but for these children, they are rare luxuries that speak of care, celebration, and hope. Our contact in Poland will host this party in person, making sure the children feel seen and loved.

This Christmas, we’re sending love to Ukraine. IHC is preparing to sendd gifts to 75 children in the Sumy region and 18 orphans in Ternopil, and we hope to sponsor Christmas parties as well. Help us bring joy and hope to these precious kids this holiday season. 💛🎄💙
