[NEW] solar mortgage product has hit the market that allows clients to finance their solar into their mortgage loan.

No second mortgage.

Here are some key benefits:
1) By financing solar into their loan, borrowers can earn up to 3.5% of the home’s sales price (capped at $13,000) by participating in an education and post-closing mentorship program.

2) Bundle the cost of solar installations and roof repairs in one mortgage.

Note: Solar financing is capped at 20% of the appraised home value, and appraisers will not assign value to the solar panels themselves.

3) Clients can claim 30% of the total solar installation cost as a tax credit through 2032, significantly lowering the out-of-pocket expense.

Ex. $30,000 solar installation = $9,000 tax credit.

4) Because the solar is technically paid for cash, the client saves on the cost of financing the solar, which can include 30-40 origination points!

5) This is currently done through a standard FHA program, and the cost of the solar is added to the loan amount.
