What if saving coral reefs was as simple as turning the sound back on?

A team of divers and scientists, led by artist Marco Barotti, is working together with the Alligator Head Foundation in Jamaica to restore damaged reefs using the soundscapes of healthy ecosystems. By recording vibrant, living reefs and replaying those sounds in damaged ecosystems, using a reef-shaped sound system sitting on the ocean floor, his team is guiding fish and marine life back home.

🪸Similar to how a public square brings people together, a healthy reef does the same — just underwater. This , sea how sound is making waves in coral reef restoration.

As the world counts down to the 2026 , another trend is impossible to ignore: extreme heat is rising at nearly every host stadium.

🌡️For example, the number of extremely hot June-July days at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca — set to become the first stadium ever to host three World Cups — has climbed from 2 before the 1986 tournament to 11 ahead of 2026. The climate crisis is no longer a future concern for sports, it’s already changing the game.
