18. The Wi******er Model 94 test rifle included a blued, 20-inch barrel with 1:12 rifling twist. This stock barrel handled the lead-free copper bullets well, assembling better groups than Patrick had anticipated.

Nosler’s 165-grain Long Range (LR) AccuBond struggled with the powders chosen, the best
group measuring just 1.02 inches using 63 grains of Accurate Magpro. Muzzle velocity was
2,892 fps.
Rifle is a Browning’s X-Bolt 2 Speed bolt action rifle.

The 38-55 and its extended family: 38-55, 32-40, 30-30 Wi******er and 32
Wi******er Special.

Stevens Model 51 Schützen rifle in 32-40, built on the No. 44 action. The cases are from Quality Cartridge, the bullets are Lyman mould number 319201, 186-grain cast, to a design by Guy
Loverin.

Despite battlefield conjectures, wooden bullets were not intended as anti-personnel devices. Evaluation of Swedish wooden bullet training rounds shows they are unlikely to be effective even at bayonet distance.

The test bed utilized here is the 6.5x55mm Swedish m/38 Ma**er featuring a muzzle threaded for a blank firing device (BFD).
