We love bee-ing a part of the Gahanna Community!

🐝 It's hard to bee-lieve it's already been a month since Creative Options, LLC installed their adaptive beehive at Peace Lutheran Church! During this time, participants have been building vocational skills through hands-on experiences while helping care for a growing hive.

The busy bees have also been hard at work pollinating the nearby garden, supporting Gahanna's commitment to being a pollinator-friendly community and making a positive impact on our local environment.

This project was made possible through the City of Gahanna's 2025 Community Grant Program, and we're thrilled to see this opportunity to life. We can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings! 🐝🌼

🌟 Athlete Spotlight: Alison Lonsbrough 🌟

Day 4 is here, so it’s time to meet our final Athlete Torch Bearer!

Meet Alison Lonsbrough from Gahanna Special Olympics!

Alison represents the true spirit of Special Olympics through her resilience, determination, and lifelong commitment to the program. Involved since the age of eight, she has always found joy in competition and connection with her teammates.

In 2024, Alison faced a life-changing challenge after suffering 17 strokes and being diagnosed with Moyamoya Disease. Despite this, she remained focused on getting back to the sport she loves. By 2025, she had already returned to competition—even if only walking—driven by her incredible determination.

Now, Alison is back competing at full capacity, rejoining her relay team and participating in multiple events. Her journey is a powerful testament to perseverance, courage, and the strength to never give up.

We’re proud to spotlight Alison as a Torch Bearer who inspires everyone around her through her resilience and unwavering spirit. 💙✨
