The Stars of Nat Geo's "Critter Fixers" Want to Inspire the Next Generation of Black Veterinarians 07/15/2021

Dr. Vernon Hodges and Dr. Terrence Ferguson—the stars of "Critter Fixers"— wanted the show to expose youth to the veterinary profession. By showing a veterinary hospital that features Black vets and Black vet techs, they can be the visible role models neither of them had growing up.

"We hope to use this legacy to create more minority vets and more kids knowing that veterinary medicine is an amazing profession," Dr. Hodges explained.

The Stars of Nat Geo's "Critter Fixers" Want to Inspire the Next Generation of Black Veterinarians Fewer than 1% of the country's veterinarians are Black. Dr. Vernon Hodges and Dr. Terrence Ferguson hope to change that.
