We want to take a moment this Foster Care Awareness Month to shout-out the 2026 graduating class!

Teenagers in transitional living often don’t receive anything to celebrate graduating, so Stitched Together created and delivered these graduation boxes to journeyhomefc so these teens know how proud we are of them!!!

Please don’t scroll on by thinking because you can’t foster or adopt, that you can’t do anything—because you can. Everyone can.

You don’t have to do it all, but each kind gesture & every act of compassion says to foster parents “I see you, I appreciate you & I’m here for you.”

Foster Care Awareness Month brings some hard truths.
Too many kids are stuck in foster care limbo—not because they’re “too much,” but because adults fail to act.
Courts delay. Systems stall. People stay silent.

💔 Kids carry trauma while adults make excuses.
And the truth? Not every parent does the work.

These kids deserve more than hope.
They deserve permanency.
They deserve truth.
They deserve a YES without conditions.

To the foster moms who love fiercely, advocate boldly, and create safe spaces where healing begins — you are heroes. Your love may be temporary in time, but it is permanent in impact.

While every child deserves a safe and loving home, teens are the most overlooked group in the foster care system. Often misunderstood and too often age out without a strong support system, they need us—our communities, our advocacy, and our open hearts.

👟 They’re finishing high school.
🎓 Planning for the future.
💬 Figuring out who they are.

And they deserve stability, encouragement, and a chance to thrive—just like any other teen.

This month, let’s raise our voices for the teens in care.

🧡 Become a mentor.
🧡 Consider fostering a teen.
🧡 Help break the stigma.

They’re not “troubled.”
They’re resilient.
