HPP Excavation came to me with a logo idea and a reference photo that meant a lot to them, a shot of their grandpa from over 20 years ago, standing on his excavator in Oklahoma. I think it all came together nicely. I love adding those personal, family touches to my designs.

I’m getting ready to start my eleventh (!!) PBCCS yearbook. It’s always a labor of love, but so rewarding in the end. I created my first one back in 2016, and it’s really evolved over the years.

Each year, the theme reflects the storyline-study of that school year; last year, for example, was focused on the history of Westward Expansion.

The school also hosts a front and back cover contest where students submit artwork inspired by the place-based theme. It’s always incredible to see their creativity. One year, we had 52 entries!

This year's theme is community. Can't wait to get started! ;)

I never really know which direction my design work will take. I love it when everything finally falls into place. These two designs actually gave me goosebumps when they came together. I told my friend that I’m a nerd like that. lol 🙃🤓
