A quick pasture walk between irrigation and baseball games. Homer always talking trash to the neighbors bulls. First calf heifer with her twins, doing ok, she was in heat last week. And calves enjoying the shade.

Last calf of the year for Rocky Pastures Ranch. First calf heifer with a heifer calf making 20 heifers and 8 bulls from 27 cows. Best calving year ever. Did not assist with any births, just provided some extra nutrition for the twins. This heifer calf had both sire and dam with Igenity scores of 10 on tenderness and 8 on marbling. Calves are growing fast.

At 16 years old, Sunnyridge Padilla Xi gave me a beautiful black bull this morning. He is from Davlynn’s Grand Finale. I had high hopes of getting a heifer on this third time mating but it wasn’t to be.

Calf update. Newest calf a Sunny Ridge High Value bull from Rocky Pastures Homerun. Making it 7 bulls to 18 heifers with 3 left to go. It has been a great calving season so far, no assists just tagging babies.

Quick update. The twins are doing great. Had 20/27 cows calved in the first three weeks with 15 heifers and 6 bulls. Man they grow fast.
