We’re excited to announce that Watch D.O.G.S. is coming to Tapp Middle School soon! 🧡🐾🖤
Varner Watch D.O.G.S. recently met with the Tapp leadership board, and we’re excited about the things that are happening!
Watch D.O.G.S. doesn’t have to stop when kids leave elementary school. There is SO much that can be done at the middle school level, and having dads and father figures in the building means more support, not only for our students, but for the teachers, staff, and the campus as a whole.
Whether it’s helping around the school, supporting staff, being an extra set of eyes and hands, encouraging students, or simply being present, there is plenty of room for dads and father figures to make an impact.
Our kids may be getting older, but they still need us to show up. If you would like more information about starting a Watch D.O.G.S. unit at your elementary, middle, or high school, contact us for details on how we run the program at Varner, or contact WATCH D.O.G.S.® directly to get started today.

Welcome to Varner’s monthly Watch D.O.G.S. Roundup, where we share what’s happening with our fatherhood program! We had an amazing first week of school and kicked things off with an exciting High Five Friday for Independence Day.

Last year, Varner WATCH D.O.G.S. didn’t just show up…they showed OUT, & this year, we’re raising the bar!
Stop by the WATCH D.O.G.S. table during Meet & Greet on July 30 from 1:00–3:00 PM to get signed up, meet the team, and see everything we have planned for the new school year.
Our first event is High Five Friday on August 7, and we’d love to pack the hallways with dads and father figures helping us welcome our students back.
Let’s make this our biggest year yet. See you Thursday!

This year, Watch D.O.G.S. became more than just dads showing up at school. It grew a brotherhood, a community, and it is something these kids will remember forever.
From High Five Fridays to 650+ visits throughout the school year, these dads showed up BIG for Varner.

What a night celebrating 10 YEARS of Varner Watch D.O.G.S. 💙🐾💛🐾💜
A huge thank you to for hosting such an incredible celebration for our dads, families, and supporters. This night was more than we could have ever imagined, and none of it would have been possible without every dad/father figure who showed up, our amazing admin team, teachers, and community supporters.
Last night we had 50+ dads celebrate an amazing accomplishment with over 650+ school visits during the 2025–2026 school year. What started as dads volunteering inside the school turned into something so much bigger, a true brotherhood.
These men come from all different walks of life, but through the program they formed real friendships, built strong connections, and created lifelong memories both inside and outside of the school walls.
The Watch D.O.G.S. program is changing lives for all the right reasons, and are so grateful to be part of something this special.

🐾 Watch D.O.G.S. Spotlight: Kevin Miranda 🐾
Today we’re celebrating one of Varner’s original Watch D.O.G.S….Kevin Miranda!
For the past 9 years, Kevin has been instrumental in helping grow and shape this program into what it is today. From volunteering at events to consistently showing up on campus, Kevin has been a steady and positive presence for our students and staff.
The students love seeing him around the school, and it’s easy to see why! He is a role model, a fun dad, and the definition of what a Watch D.O.G. represents.
Thank you, Kev, for 9 years of support, leadership, and dedication to the Varner community. 🐾💙
