Outdoor Time = Better Sleep: Why Getting Outside Is Non-Negotiable for Babies & Toddlers ⛅️

Outdoor Time = Better Sleep: Why Getting Outside Is Non-Negotiable for Babies & Toddlers Discover how outdoor time, sunlight, fresh air, and movement help babies and toddlers sleep better, regulate emotions, and support healthy development.
What exactly IS a wake window, and why does it feel so different every single day? 🤔
Laura, co-founder of Moms on Call, explains it all.
Wake windows are the amount of time your baby can comfortably stay awake before needing sleep again, starting as short as 10 minutes for newborns and growing gradually over time.
Instead of tracking wake windows on the fly (hello, chaos 😅), Moms on Call routines keep things consistent by age, with built-in flexibility so you’re never white-knuckling the clock.
Remember: feed times are your anchor, and you’ve always got a 15-minute grace period. Breathe. You’ve got this. 💙

The Moms on Call bedtime 💤 routine usually begins around 7:30 PM, the perfect time for little ones to relax and prepare for a peaceful night’s sleep.
Start with a warm bath 🫧, then move into quiet connection time 💖 with low lights, snuggles, and a full feed in a calm setting.
Consistency makes all the difference! Repeating this routine each evening helps your baby learn the signals that it’s time to rest. You’re building comfort, trust, and rhythm every night, and that’s amazing. ✨

Life isn’t predictable… but your day can still have anchors.
Here are a few simple ways to bring rhythm without rigidity:
✨ Start with 2–3 anchor points
Morning wake, mid-day reset, and bedtime. Let the rest flex around those.
✨ Use the 15-minute grace
You’re not late. You’re living life. Give yourself room on either side.
✨ Reset, don’t restart
Day went sideways? No problem. Just jump back in at the next routine point.
✨ Pause before reacting
Not every fuss needs a big change. Sometimes it’s just a quick soothe or a nap.
✨ Keep what works
If your current rhythm is working, stick with it. No need to fix what isn’t broken.
This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about having a plan… and the freedom to adjust it.
That’s where the peace comes in 💕
