Finished legislative session around 1 in the morning. Spent this session fighting drastic sales tax increases on seniors and working families.
Now, it’s time to get the message out to voters.
If you’re with me, please consider supporting the campaign. Every contribution makes a difference—thank you!

Georgia Republicans are pushing legislation that would make local elected officials non-partisan in five counties where they have found they cannot win. Only 5 counties in Georgia and not the other 154 counties.
Word to my Georgia Republican colleagues who think taking the party off of the ballot in local elections in Cobb will mean that people won't know you are a Republican.
In other states, the political parties make sure people know who is what party on the ballot. Not only for the ones that are normally partisan but also the local city council races and judges. Instead of decreasing partisanship, Georgia Republicans are about to supercharge partisanship in every election.

“So when the Senate does things like this, we have to really take the language as it comes back,” Republican state Rep. Chuck Efstration said.
He is Majority Leader in the Georgia House of Representatives.
Never heard that before. When did this start?
Senate passes new election bill making metro offices nonpartisan, goes to governor’s desk The bill would make most county elections non-partisan, but only in the five core metro Atlanta counties.
The Georgia Senate did what the Georgia Senate does.
They took a House bill about food trucks and turning into a partisan attack on metro counties.

Property taxes and what your elected leaders ALREADY have the power to do.
Today I talk about the Intergovernmental Coordination Committee and why it is important. Over 100 bills have been drafted this legislative term to deal with local homestead properties and taxes.
Georgia House votes down attempt to raise your sales taxes in bill that was supposed to address property tax relief.
HR 1114 was voted on just hours after the amended 2026 budget was signed which included $2 billion in tax relief. A budget that was supported by both Democrats and Republicans.
