Litter box problem require creative solutions! With old age and advanced arthritis come challenges. Litter box challenges that is! So how does one make a litter box “attract”ive to a cat who has developed an aversion? 1) get creative 2) use litter attractant! What’s the creative part? Well, Mr. Cosmo loves a good bath mat and I’ve throw many away over the years as a result. So we’ve set up a few boxes of varying sizes and styles in some of his favorite spots and instead of putting litter in them, we’re using bath mats! Will it work? I have no idea, but when you’ve tried everything else, sometimes you need a Hail Mary.

Got litter box problems? When your cat has had urinary issues since they were 8 months old, litter box issues are only inevitable. Though we’ve ruled out any medical issues, Cosmo is still having stress-related litter box issues. That’s where comes in. Using Dr. Elsey’s litter box solutions guide, some Cat Attract litter, Ultra litter attractant, and a little bit of positive reinforcement, we’re attempting to reframe the litter box aversion Cosmo has developed over the last few months. It’s hard work, but Cosmo is worth it.
