The State Legislature is considering the REST Act, which would make it easier for municipalities outside NYC — including communities in Dutchess County — to adopt rent control.

Housing affordability matters, but rent control is not the answer.

Dutchess REALTORS® supports policies that increase housing supply, encourage investment, and create more housing opportunities — not policies that could reduce rental options and place added pressure on property owners.
