Thursday is ALBB’s first meetup for our Business advertisers! This is ALBB’s Business Blog Squad. A collection of therapists, roofers, restaurant owners, shop owners, and more. This is a chance for a time to get together to talk shop, share experiences, spark new ideas, and come away revived to keep going. Because as business owners, we push ourselves to push through. 👊🏼

Hosted by the generous Elizabeth Rodriguez, owner of the beautiful and intimate Estilo Y Vino Wine Bar Estilo Y Vino Wine Bar at 173 Main Street. ALBB business Members enjoy 1 free glass of wine with 1 tapas order.

Happy Monday.
A new design has been sprayed onto the left wall of the Skate Park, which so far has been used by presumably smaller kids and those who produce smaller designs and sketches. This composition is little bit pac-man, a little bit maze, a little bit domino blocks. But that’s just one interpretation. A few friendly symbols adorn the inside, like a peace sign and a heart, maybe some polkadots, which could be in tribute to this side of the wall.

The start of a skull or X-ray is on the right side of the wall.

As with all of these graffiti arts, to be continued...

Though the Poison Ivy comic book character is sexy, enduring a summertime poison ivy rash after being outdoors is not enjoyable. Poison Ivy is all over Beacon and the Hudson Valley. Thank you Famous Meadow ꧂ Landscape & Floral and Eleni LaSenna for identifying the leaf and recommending Building With Blake for video tutorial on identifying the leaf! Blake says that it’s a 3-leaf plant with smooth edge, but with notches.

CareFull MD’s Urgent Care can treat your rash - before it spreads to look like these worse case scenarios.

It’s best to come in sooner rather than later because a poison ivy rash can spread to sensitive areas or the possibly eyes. Treatment usually involves a topical medication and oral steroids.

SYMPTOMS:
🔦 Redness
🔦 Itching
🔦 Swelling
🔦 Blisters
🔦 Difficulty breathing, if you’ve inhaled the smoke from burning poison ivy

“Poison ivy rash often appears in a straight line because of the way the plant brushes against your skin. But if you develop a rash after touching a piece of clothing or pet fur that has urushiol on it, the rash may be more spread out. You can also transfer the oil to other parts of your body with your fingers. The reaction usually develops 12 to 48 hours after exposure and lasts two to three weeks.” - Mayo Clinic

Have a day full of care. 💜💟🤍

Shelter Air Shelter Air approaches HVAC jobs with a fresh approach: creativity. Says owner Kimberly Sevilla when reflecting on Beltane:

“Creativity blooms between spring and summer. The old festivals understood something we sometimes forget inside climate-controlled boxes: humans are seasonal creatures. Our best ideas arrive when fresh air hits our lungs, when we’re moving through a world that’s alive around us. The ancients didn’t separate inspiration from environment—they knew one fed the other.

“That’s the philosophy we carry into every HVAC challenge at Shelter Air. The most creative solutions don’t fight the Earth’s rhythms—they work with them. Airflow, temperature, humidity—these aren’t just engineering problems. They’re ancient questions, and nature has been answering them beautifully for billions of years.”

Call Shelter Air today to schedule them to look at your needs for old or new systems. Cleaning, replacement, recommendations, they do it all.

Shelter Air is a Sponsor of ALBB’s Business Directory and a Member of A Little Beacon’s Business Blog Squad. 🌟

Been waiting for the sunny ☀️day to return to amplify that the Spirit of Beacon 2026 edition 🌈 is OPEN for registration and sponsorships!

💫 Beacon schools, organizations and businesses can register for the Parade.

💫 Groups selling food and fun, as well as representing resources and community opportunities can apply for consideration of a Vendor table. School clubs encouraged to apply.

💫 Businesses can sign on as Sponsors at a variety of levels.

Pictured here is a forever face of Beacon, former Mayor Randy Casale, who walks every morning, and used to wake up even earlier to water those petunias hanging above your heads back when watering the petunias had to be cut from Beacon’s budget.

He’s not affiliated with this year’s Spirit of Beacon Day (that ALBB knows of), but here he was last week, wearing his Spirit t-shirt.
