Anti-Bullying Initiative
The Anti-Bullying Initiative is under the auspices of the Mediation Center of Dutchess County. The Dignity for All Students Act took effect on July 1, 2012.
It requires schools to create an environment free from harassment and discrimination by appointing a Dignity Act Coordinator to provide training for staff, to prevent and respond to harassment and training for students on civility, citizenship, and character education. Some of the Mediation Center's activities include:

-Education and Training (including the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program training)

General information
Mediators help support the conversation between parties in conflict in a confidential and voluntary process. Mediators do not make decisions for people, nor do they give advice. They help parties figure out what will work for them given the situation they face.
