Know Your Stamell Family (or “Stamily,” as we like to call it!)

Get to know Stephen Minor, Violinist and Sales Manager at the Poughkeepsie, NY shop .

A Poughkeepsie native, Stephen began playing violin at 8 years a old and quickly developed a passion for music. Through the guidance of inspiring teachers and participation in numerous ensembles, he cultivated both his musicianship and a deep appreciation for the discipline behind the craft.

In the spirit of not letting his last name go to waste, Stephen pursued music professionally and earned his B.M. In Violin Performance from SUNY Fredonia. After graduation, he joined the “ Stamily” in 2017 and has continued his musical journey ever since. Stephen remains active in the community, performing with the Greater Newburgh Symphony, Northern Dutchess Symphony, and Woodstock Symphony Orchestra, while also maintaining a private violin studio.

Outside of music, Stephen is a proud plant parent and fish tank enthusiast. His motto is, “No empty container is too small to save,” and he always keeps at least one rescued betta fish in his care. His current betta, Jeffrey, is a beloved member of the household.

Thank you for taking a moment to get to know another member of the team here at Stamell Stringed Instruments. Be sure to keep a lookout for more bios!
