Furever Photography
Heartfelt photography for dogs & their people. Furever Friends Pet Photos is about capturing the unique bond you have with your pet.
My goal is for you and your Furever Friend to have fun and relax, with a little patience the photos will come together.
The struggle is real. When I was out of town on a business trip last week I may or may not have facetimed with the pups πΊ
Mark your calendars (pun fully intended)...
In 7 days the PNW's Real House Pets Calendar contest opens, benefitting Pet Savers .
So start digging through that camera roll for the perfect profile photo. You know the one... the dazzling smile, the judgiest side-eye, the photo that somehow captures their whole personality in one frame. Basically, if your pet had a Hinge profile, this is the pic that gets the match.
And don't stop at the photo... we want the bio too. Tell us who they are. The diva, the goofball, the one who runs the house and knows it.
Here's how it works: enter your pet, then get your friends and family to vote. (Yes, you can vote for yourself. We don't judge.) Every dollar raised goes toward Pet Savers' mission of providing low cost preventative care for pets right here in the PNW.
Top 13 win a complimentary Furever Photography session with yours truly and their own month in the 2027 calendar. Plus bragging rights that last all year.
All the details and contest rules are at gogophotocontest.com/petsavers

Pose to avoid #1: The Get Along Little Doggy
You know this one. Big dog gets pulled back between someone's legs, hands wrapped around the chest, and now you're straddling your dog like an undergrown pony. At best it reads like you're about to ride off into the sunset. At worst... well, especially when guys do it... it does not photograph the way you think it does. (Floki hates it too πΊ)
Here's the fix. Step off to one side instead of over the dog. Kneel down, keep one knee up, and turn your body about 45 degrees toward the camera. Drape your arm across that bent knee. Same closeness, same connection, none of the "are you riding your dog" energy.
Takes two seconds. Looks a thousand times better.

Favorite breed? Yes. That's my answer and I will not be taking questions π π
Honestly... breed does tell me something. Certain tendencies, certain energy levels, certain "I will absolutely not sit still for the camera" vibes (huskies, I see you π). That's genuinely useful to know going in.
But what makes the photos? That's the conversation I have with every single client before we ever pick up a camera. Tell me about YOUR dog. The weird stuff. The favorite things. What makes them light up. Because knowing the breed helps me prepare... but knowing the DOG is what makes the photos spectacular.
You can see it in their eyes π The internal battle. The EFFORT. "I am SITTING. I am being SO good. I am... I am... okay I cannot do this anymore" πΎ
But that effort? That little look? It gets me every time. Because they really are always trying. Always wanting to make their people happy. Even when every single cell in their body is screaming to just GO.
So I don't ask them to sit for long. Sometimes not at all. Because the wild ones were just built differently... and honestly those are usually my favorite shots anyway.

Some dogs take a little time to warm up to a stranger with a camera... these three absolutely did. And then they absolutely did not hold back π Piper, Buddy, and Frankie gave me woods, waves, and so many snuggles.
Now their people have a big decision: enchanted forest vibes or beach day splash zone? Which would YOU choose? ππ²
