When the Statue of Liberty was restored in the mid-1980s, State Farm agents and employees contributed more than $1.2 million to help with the efforts. They received these small replicas as a thank you for the generous donations. Here's to keeping the spirit of freedom burning bright.

Yesterday we celebrated/re-created our BLINDATIVERSARY for the 25th year!! It all started with an Applebees corner booth and a double order of chicken finger baskets back in 1998, and we’ve been recreating it every August 9th since. That’s our story! Anyone else met your partner on a blind date?

Parkway Fire 100% CONTAINED. Thank you to the many brave men and women who were a part of this achievement! Our community is tremendously grateful for your service, selflessness, and dedication.
Final Incident Update: Parkway Fire 100% Contained, Type 3 Incident Management Team Demobilizing
The objectives of keeping citizens and firefighters safe, losing no structures and 100% containment were accomplished for the Parkway Fire due to collaboration.
The effort required four intense days of aggressive, but safe, fire suppression.
“From the moment the Parkway Fire was discovered, it was all hands on deck,” said incident commander Nate Rogers. “Kootenai County Fire & Rescue, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, Kootenai County Emergency Management, Post Falls Police Department and so many more contributed to this success, saving lives and property.”
Heavy air attack played a pivotal role in giving firefighters the time and physical space they needed to save structures. “Aircraft provided by the U.S. Forest Service in the first hours of the attack were especially helpful,” Rogers explained.
With 100% containment reached, the Idaho Department of Lands Type 3 Incident Management Team assigned to the fire will demobilize today. Throughout today 110 personnel will continue work to strengthen containment, especially in areas near structures.
With the incident management team members and resources now available for deployment to other fires, the local Idaho Department of Lands Mica Forest Protective District will assume command of the Parkway Fire. The district will continue to staff the incident.
Post Falls Police investigators are still seeking tips about who lit the campfire that started the Parkway Fire. The campfire was located approximately a quarter of a mile to the north of West Riverview Drive in a steep rocky area of the park, just north of the designated trail in the area. Anyone with information should call the Post Falls Police Department at (208) 773-3517 or email tips to [email protected].
The Idaho Department of Lands is grateful for the outpouring of support from community members in Post Falls and Kootenai County, and for the competent, hardworking, and highly capable partners who helped suppress the fire aggressively, safely and efficiently:
• Avista Utilities
• City of Post Falls
• Idaho Department of Lands
• Idaho State Police
• Kootenai County 911 Dispatch Center
• Kootenai County Emergency Management
• Kootenai County Fire & Rescue
• Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office
• Post Falls Police Department
• Post Falls Highway District
• U.S. Forest Service
• And the many individuals and businesses who volunteered and donated to the effort
This is the final update that will be published for the Parkway Fire.

In August our agency is sponsoring KODA, this 3-year-old female Siberian Husky mix at Companions Animal Center. Earlier this week I asked the staff to help us pick the dog they felt was most in need of a home. Multiple staff members named Koda, because they said that she seems to deeply miss and crave regular, ongoing human interaction. 💕 She is an absolute sweetheart who is already trained and obedient. Please share this status to help us find her a home this month!
