The Tuna Can Test? π€
Not sure if you're watering enough?
Place several empty tuna cans around your lawn and run your sprinklers. (You could obviously use any bowl, can, or plate that can contain water!) Measure the water depth after a single cycle.
Most lawns need about 1β1.5 inches of water per week. This simple test can also reveal uneven coverage and dry spots.
We can help you reset your timer or adjust sprinkler heads for better coverage if you find they are not sufficient.

π± Why Are My Sprinkler Heads Sinking?
If your sprinkler heads are sitting below grade, they can become blocked by grass and soil, reducing coverage.
A head should generally sit flush with the finished grade. Heads that are too low often lead to brown spots nearby.

π§ Backflow Tests Fail Sometimes, and Thatβs Okay!
A backflow assembly is a moving, working part of your water system, and like anything mechanical, it can occasionally fail a test.
When that happens, weβll investigate the cause. Sometimes itβs something simple, like debris or a pebble preventing a proper seal. Other times, a rubber component or shutoff valve may need attention. In many cases, weβre able to clean or repair the assembly and get it passing again with a retest.
Our goal is always to get your assembly back into compliance as quickly and cost-effectively as possible while keeping our communityβs drinking water safe.
To help keep your water service uninterrupted, these cleaning and repair services will automatically be performed. (Repairs up to $250 without prior authorization will be completed, if possible.) A $50 retest fee will also apply whenever a backflow assembly fails and requires retesting.
If the assembly continues to fail testing, the water service may need to be temporarily shut off to protect the public water supply from potential contamination. This does not necessarily mean the assembly needs to be replaced. Many failed assemblies can be repaired and retested, and the temporary shutoff is simply part of the process while repairs are completed.

π§ Sprinkler System Re-Vamp π§
Sometimes your sprinkler system doesnβt need a full replacement, it just needs the right upgrades.
This property had outdated components, poor coverage, dry spots, and inefficient watering. We upgraded and reworked the system to improve performance, coverage, and water efficiency while helping the lawn and landscape thrive again.
A sprinkler re-vamp can include:
β Replacing old or broken heads
β Upgrading nozzles for better coverage
β Fixing pressure and drainage issues
β Adding or adjusting zones
β Updating valves, timers, and wiring
β Improving overall efficiency and water usage
A properly functioning irrigation system helps protect your landscaping investment and keeps your lawn looking its best all season long.

π± Lawn Tip: Is That Brown Spot a Sprinkler Problem?
Hereβs a simple trick to help figure it out π
Place a shallow baking dish or container in the center of the brown area for a day or two β especially when your sprinklers are scheduled to run.
π§ If the dish collects plenty of water, your sprinklers are likely working properly, and the brown spot may be caused by:
β’ Lawn disease
β’ Bugs or grubs
β’ Pet spots
β’ Soil issues
β’ Heat stress or other environmental factors
π« If the dish stays mostly dry, you may have a sprinkler coverage issue, a clogged nozzle, low pressure, or a broken head.
Small tests like this can help narrow down the problem before spending money on unnecessary repairs.
