Capturing Moments in Time to Cherish Forever
04/13/2026
A couple weeks ago I was out at Orchards Park Hillsboro getting my cherry blossom fix. Beyond just the pretty blossom shots,I liked these two.

I went back out again for a break for a few minutes, and switched lenses, sat and shot what showed up.

It’s been a long while since I just grabbed a lens and sat in the yard and shot what I saw as a sort of meditation. It’s a nice break from all the heavy work finishing major projects.

I rarely see a whole double rainbow. I’ll take it as a good sign:)

I’ve been focusing on personal expression through shooting with custom and vintage lenses as a conversation between the lens and I. Giving a personality based on the experience of shooting, and letting that influence how and what I shoot. This one is shooting in the woods with “Hazelthorn”, a perfect companion to remind me to stay curious.

gave me beautiful kind of spherical geode which gave me idea to play with some macro and colored lights. I shot the geode kind of gemstone first, then an amethyst point, some petrified wood, and then a quartz.

When I shoot the life around here, its really cool how different things will treat me. During the middle of the day on these shots,
Bees are focused on getting work done and could care less about me.
The ladybug was curious but not enough to do more than peek.
The grasshopper was the most curious and ended up photobombing a shor on the white flower.
The dragonfly was very curious but I had to move slow and it wouldn't stick around.
The wasp was trying to take care of some aphids and was slightly annoyed I was interupting but tollerated a moment before leaving.
