Hidden Opulence is leaning away from production work this season and leaning into your favorites and personal treasures.

For simpler projects expect up 3 weeks turnaround. For labor intensive custom pieces expect anywhere 1-6 months. Yes you read that right. Custom work often involves further historical research, book study, special notion orders, study into proper technique for ex*****on, practice ex*****on and even consultation with other experts in the field locally or abroad.

This work is a labor of LOVE and it sounds tedious because it IS! But Hidden Opulence is passionate about it! …and the results are often 👩🏽‍🍳🤌🏽💋

It’s been awhile!
I’m Drea, the founder at Hidden Opulence in Portland, OR. It’s been equal parts exciting and unfortunate for business as of lately.
I started this business because I wanted to contribute to changes happening in the Fashion Industry for the better. The Art of Sewing is something I feel needs to be preserved for these modern times. I feel really proud to see me, a Q***r Afro-Latinx person, grow this tiny idea into the operation that it is and be celebrated by the Portland Sewing Community the way it has.

There’s been many personal reasons for so much pause and I hope it is not permanent. Owning a business is incredibly difficult and for several years I’ve constantly put HODH first before myself.
I come to you now asking if you could let our light continue to shine. If what we DO and WHO we are inspires you in any way or form, please consider donating to keep this Black-owned shop open.
