I’m a Rising Star Level 5 provider with over 20 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Our program offers a play-based curriculum with an emphasis on outdoor learning and exploration.

Shunk Child Care (SCC), a nationally accredited family child care, is currently hiring for a full time or part time assistant early childhood educator. The ideal candidate would be able to work 7:30-4:30pm M-T-Th-F (Wednesdays off.)

SCC uses the Maine Roads to Quality Career lattice to determine level of pay. Lattice level is determined by a combination of education level and years of experience. Current pay scale for 2024/2025 is as follows. THIS POSITION PAYS A MAX RATE OF $23 REGARDLESS OF MRTQ LATTICE LEVEL.

Level 1 or 2 - $18-$20 per hour
Level 3 or 4 - $21-$23 per hour
Level 5 or 6 - $24-$26 per hour
Level 7 or 8 - $27-$29 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Able to pass DHHS Fingerprint Background check
CPR & First Aid Certified (or able to complete within 45 days of hire.)

A favorite winter activity of ours, watercolors on snow! We used our spray bottles, which are perfect for little hands, then mixed some water & liquid watercolors. Our kiddos were mesmerized all while build in some serious fine motor strength! So glad we finally got snow ❄️

Today’s activity was making sun catchers! We collected found materials outside, covered them with water, now we wait….
