Momentum Conservation accelerates conservation work in Maine by providing technical and administrative support, and expanding meaningful partnerships.
Our Work: Founded in 2012. We strengthen conservation organizations through technical assistance, shared resources, and networking. We bind organizations together for greater impact. Because our theory of change is rooted in the idea that solutions forged together and in partnership are more lasting and effective, we also serve to build connections within the conservation sector, and between conservation and broader community issues. Our Mission: In service of connection to the land and justice for people, we advance the growth edge of the modern conservation movement. Our Vision: Conserved, restored and stewarded lands provide climate resiliency, community health, justice and equity for generations. Our relationship with the earth is primary in society, restoring sovereignty to the earth and Indigenous people, benefiting all. Our Commitment: All people have the right to access nature in open and public spaces. To guarantee this right for all communities, it is imperative for the conservation community to build a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse movement. The Southern Maine Conservation Collaborative is committed to being a catalyst and partner in this transformation.

Hello from Colorado! Jess and Peyton kicked off their time at Land Trust Alliance Rally with a field trip to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge— one of the largest urban refuges in the country. We got to see so much amazing native wildlife, but the herds of bison were particularly amazing to witness.

Momentum Conservation is thrilled to announce the 40 recipients of our $415,000 award to Maine land trusts. In the applications for this program, Community Grant Reviewers and Momentum Staff read about amazing work across the state including land trusts committing to accessibility on land and in programming, centering equity in organizational culture and partnerships, prioritizing community outreach, investing in staff development, finding creative solutions to ecological challenges, and so much more. At Momentum Conservation we see so much leadership, growth, strength, and positive change in the land trust community and we will continue to support this community as a funder and partner in this work.
