Stan O'Kane classic rock singer and guitar player is at The Fling Cocktail Lounge in Santa Ana, California tonight 9pm to 1:30am for an unusual Monday night performance. They call the Jack Lindon R***e a Jazz Club and the successor to Jimmy Macks, but they only have real jazz once or twice a week. The other nights they have reggie, hip hop, and other weird music. Tonight, a Satuday night, it is pretty empty. I think they would do better if they just stuck to jazz every night and became a "go to" place for jazz fans. Most jazz fans dont follow what is happening at JLR as they are not consistently jazz. Meanwhile The 1905 is pretty booked all night every night as they have 2 to 4 real jazz sessions every night. They are the true successor to Jimmy Macks, though much less expensive.
