Last month, COR joined City leaders, artists and program partners to celebrate the completion of the South and Southwest Portland expansion of the City’s Public Trash Can Program.

The installation of 150 new Public trash cans makes waste disposal more accessible where it’s needed most, helping create cleaner, more welcoming public spaces throughout the community.

With these new cans now on our routes, COR looks forward to continuing to provide reliable service that helps keep South and Southwest Portland’s public spaces safe, well maintained, and welcoming.

To close out Waste & Recycling Worker Appreciation Week, we’re spotlighting the team whose work is shaping the future of recycling in Oregon, our Waste Audit team.

Oregon’s Recycling Modernization Act is the first of its kind in the country, and COR is playing an integral role in making it a reality. Our Waste Audit team does the detailed, unglamorous work that makes it all possible - analyzing what’s in the waste stream, identifying what could be diverted, and helping raise the bar for recycling across the state.

To our Waste Audit team and every team we’ve highlighted this week, thank you. The work you do every day matters more than you know.

This week is Waste & Recycling Workers Week, and we’re kicking things off by spotlighting the team that makes everything else possible — our Maintenance crew.

Our 8-person team brings a combined wealth of experience with tenures ranging from 2 weeks to 27 years. Before a single truck hits the road, they’ve already been hard at work making sure every vehicle is safe, running, and ready to go. They’re the reason your pickup happens on time, every time.
