Coming soon. Our upgraded 5.1 surround Studio B. Need a nickname for this one. “The Den?” “The Cave?”

Had a makeshift remote record in “less-than-ideal” conditions yesterday. 416 mic to the rescue for that. And our DR-60D recorder is a nice travel size with a built in line out so we were able to play back recordings through a small set of speakers.

Allyson’s kids have grown a little bigger and our board has grown a little smaller. (Swipe for the comparison).

We have visitors joining us in the studio today as Allyson officially starts the countdown to school starting next week!

In case you have been wondering what a day in the life of an audio engineer looks like, we time compressed our day down to 45 seconds! Check it out below.

Doing a little redecorating here at the studio. There are a few nods to our late grandfather here. Swipe to see them close up, and check out the last photo of the artwork we are replacing. We aren’t quite sure in what world those two pieces coordinated together and yet they have been on the walls here for 15 years!
🎙
The microphone was a “toy” microphone our grandpa had as a child that plugged into old radios and you could amplify your voice through the speaker.
🎨
He also made a career being an artist which is why we included the paint brushes. The logging drawing was a piece he did for the old Portland Bank for an advertisement and calendar they put out in 1947.
👴
The old charcoal tin was something we found among his things. We have no story for them but it’s a pretty cool tin.

Is it ironic that I went shopping at to get supplies to foley sound effects FOR a QFC tv ad? I also love when the sound effects are edible. Zero waste.
