If you flew a couple of times last year, or know someone who did, it shouldn’t surprise you that air travel was less reliable than in 2024. In fact, both cancellations and delays increased in 2025, leading to the worst on-time performance since 2014.
More than 100,000 flights were canceled by the largest U.S. operating carriers. Overall, nearly one-fourth of flights – about 1.66 million flights including delays, cancellations and diversions – did not arrive on time in 2025, according to new data from the Department of Transportation. While late departures can be annoying, late arrivals are what really matter when it comes to making connections or being on time for other plans.
An arrival that’s 60 minutes or more late can cross that threshold. Last year, one in 12 flights on the 10 largest airlines arrived an hour or more late.

Ever wonder what it’s like to be a public interest advocate? In his first five months, OSPIRG associate Andrew Kiehlbauch:
Talked to hundreds of people
Traveled all the way across Oregon and back
Learned about out why health care is so expensive
Held a press conference
Helped fight food waste in Oregon
Appreciated the small moments
And mostly learned that there is no short answer to the question “what it’s like to be a public interest advocate?”

AI therapists, what could go wrong? Turns out, a lot! A PIRG researcher had a long talk with an AI therapist, and what they found raised concerns.
I tried out an AI chatbot therapist. Here’s what I saw. AI therapists are increasingly popular. We found some reasons to be concerned.
We're taking aim at confusing and unjustified hospital bills. We’re building support to lower health care costs by banning “facility fees,” a charge that is popping up more and more that needlessly increases the cost of routine medical appointments. These fees can range from $25 to $1800, your insurance may not cover them, and they don’t contribute to the quality of your care.

Join OSPIRG, Health Care for All Oregon, and Oregon Coalition for Affordable Prescriptions to learn how we got here and how we can make a change. Attendance is free. Space is limited.
