We need your help finding a Google Scratch instructor!

SWNI 2020-21 Small Grant Award “Code Squad, is a 10-week program which provides an introduction to computer science principles by teaching basic coding to students. We partnered with IMPACT NW SUN Program to offer this in-person after school program.

With the Schools reopening plans and continuing issues around COVID/vaccines, plus the practical aspect of kids tired of using computers all day, we are pivoting. Code Squad is planned to be an on-line camp offered during Spring break. There would be a 3 hour morning session and a 3 hour afternoon session. The camp would include middle schoolers from RGMS and JMS. We are using the Google Scratch program for instruction. To encourage needed social interactions, the camp will include breakout rooms where the kids can work in smaller groups, providing them the opportunity to chat/socialize.

We need your help! We are looking for an instructor! Someone who is familiar with Google Scratch, adept at teaching on-line. If you know of anyone who might have the knowledge and skills to teach this on-line Camp, please have them contact me. See below for contact information.

Spring break is 3 weeks away so finding an instructor asap is critical. We can pay $120 per day or $ 480 to $ 600 per week (teaching either 4 days or 5 days). We really appreciate your help. Please contact Patty McMahon, SWNI Schools Committee Co-Chair @ 503-453-7987.
