UP Theater presents Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes), in the Mago Hunt Theater! 💛
Every night’s a different show with Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, as the audience gets to pick the order in which scenes are performed and the actors must get through the whole performance before the clock strikes zero. In other words: beautiful chaos. This excerpt from the ongoing devised show put on by the Neo-futurist Ensemble in Chicago is an exercise in audience participation, stretching the bounds of theater, and letting loose.
Come enjoy an hour of hilarity and hi-jinx with us tonight through November 24!

Next up for UP Theater - Sanctuary City by Martyna Majok! 💜
This upcoming show is deeply intimate and beautifully complicated, telling the story of three young adults in a post-9/11 world as they navigate finding a place in both this country and with each other. Are those desires mutually exclusive? 🌃
Directed by Senior Ricardo Guevara for his Directing Capstone, Sanctuary City will perform October 24-26 in the Blair Studio Theater (basement of Mehling). You do not want to miss this! FREE (that’s right FREE) reservation link is in our bio! Don’t delay in nabbing your spot.

🚨 UP Theater Alums! We need your photos! 🚨
We’re so excited to share pictures from UP Theater years past, but we need your help! Over the years and changes in the Department, our Archive has run very thin. We are missing a lot of years of production photos, mostly from the years 2012-2020, and any year pre- 2008. This is where we need your help!
If you have any photos from your time with UP Theater, especially any production photos, please email [email protected]. We would like to work with you to help fill our archive up again! You can also DM us. ❤️
We can’t wait to share more memories with you! 📸
