Classically untrained, untamed and unhinged, Essie Hex is a Portland-based performer with approximately 100 years of local theater, indie film acting, pinup posing and horror magazine modeling, and beautifully bizarre burlesque.
Essie’s burlesque debuted during a pandemic lockdown, because of course the appropriate time to start stripping is in the middle of a historic global crisis.

She can rightfully claim that she got her start dancing on the streets of Portland…. outside… in the rain and snow….uphill both ways.

These days Essie does her part to keep Portland weird by teaching a weekly fitness class that combines uninhibited movement with unedited music, uncensored sweating and unapologetic primal screams. It’s fun.

She is your die hard avant garde with a truly unruly n**e attitude…Essie Hex!
