Their passion for saving books (aided by Michelle's degree in English Literature) developed over many years, during which time they cultivated a deep partnerships with libraries & recycling centers whose discarded books go to face the landfill & die. Their passion for rescuing these books & transforming them into something new drives them. Founded in 2004, Attic Journals is on a mission to give books new life, not necessarily in their previous form. Each book retains its original character & charm, then dependent on specific materials, they are transformed into notebooks, garlands, coasters & even earrings! Am I the only one that envisions Miss Dorothy buying her book from a musty bookstore in some downtown, walking home and sitting at her desk, gently pulling out a pencil and carefully writing her name inside of her newest bookish best friend.

Library check out cards are buried treasure inside of many of the books we upcycle. If we're at a show and you find one inside, consider it a treasure because that means I missed it! đź“–

To the good people of August birthdays: we feel compelled to apologize for a product shortcoming that we have no way of controlling...
We rarely have Book Lover Pendants for you. Not by choice, but for the fact that we source our books that have check out cards primarily from school discards. And well... there is rarely school in August, so rarely are books due at that time.
