👻 A 12-Day Sprint to Turn Our Window into a Haunted AR Ghost Display 👻
Twelve days before Halloween, a casual “what if we made something interactive for the window?” turned into a SpriteKit-based, person-detecting interactive window display running on a custom Mac app. It combined Apple Vision for detecting people, an infrared camera and lighting for night visibility, and a small portable projector for rear projection onto a chiffon sheet, bringing hand-drawn cartoon ghosts to life for our trick-or-treaters (and their parents!).
We built it in Xcode using its coding intelligence integration (Claude Code and ChatGPT) to move fast from concept to launch. Jessica drew every animation in Procreate on the iPad and even built a small companion app to preview sequence transitions. It was a playful experiment in design, computer vision, and rapid prototyping that reminded the two of us at Everyday Odyssey why we love combining creativity and technology to bring ideas to life.
