Scored big in the mountains this week, lots of tasty mushrooms! So fresh for you on the menu: Porcini, Coral Mushroom & Asparagus Harumaki! Served with a savory garlic/tamari sauce. Come & get some, before we eat them all ourselves! 🍄‍🟫🌱🔥

💐Special Mother’s Day dessert tomorrow: The Ichigo Slider! As simple as it gets, our shokupan milk bread baked in a little bun shape, split & filled with strawberries & whipped cream! 🍓

Another menu addition made possible by & their garden: Nettle Miso-Glazed Tofu Dengaku. It’s hominy miso spread on atsuage-fried tofu & toasted. Topped with scallions & sesame seeds. Because we decided to use hominy miso instead of our kenzanji, this version of our dengaku is completely gluten free! 🌱

Young & tender green garlic, fresh from ’s garden makes this new onigiri extra fancy! As you eat it, you’ll realize your pinky has involuntarily remained straight out, while your other fingers delicately curl around it, just like sipping a glass of expensive champagne (white tablecloth & weighted silverware sold separately). We have a relatively limited supply, so order it when you can! Ready today for pickup, dine-in or (NEW) delivery to pretty much anywhere in Portland! 🍽️🥂

Putting the morels we’ve been finding to good use! It’s a revised version of our Grilled Morel & Hazelnut Tantan: Chilled udon noodles in a creamy/zesty soy milk broth, shio koji’d morel mushrooms, quick pickled cucumbers & snap peas. Topped with a roasted hazelnut-tofu crumble, & umeboshi. This time of year, we’re always looking for more mushrooms, but it’s never a guarantee that we’ll find any, so we can’t say how long this one’ll be on the menu. Drop in & eat here, take it away to your favorite happy place, or (NEW) get it delivered anywhere in Portland!
