Congratulations to the CodeX2 Hackathon winners and to the Falmouth High School Seniors who will graduate this weekend!
NCG sponsors Falmouth High’s inclusive coding club, CodeX2, and hosted our third Hackathon on May 18th. Students teamed up to identify modern problems, like finding a college roommate, getting accepted to a dream school, and curbing food waste, then collaboratively developed and presented prototype application solutions using coding skills they learned in weekly CodeX2 meetings.
A heartfelt thank you to all the students and staff at Falmouth High who continuously support CodeX2 and helped make this year’s program a success!

Business Continuity planning: Contingency strategies
The final pieces of this equation are the contingency strategies, or in other words how the company works to expedite the recovery process. This can include:
- Backup and recovery methods
- Alternate processing and storage
- Alternate servicers and processers
- Equipment replacement
- Cost considerations
- Roles and responsibilities
Having a plan in place for this segment of recovery will give you piece of mind knowing what steps you will take after any unforeseen circumstances to get things back to normal.

Controls works to catch problems before they have an impact on the larger system as a whole and are therefore an integral part of planning.

Business Continuity planning: Key functions
To go about creating a Business Continuity Plan, one must identify their key functions. When identifying key functions within a company, there are five questions that must be considered:
1. What is the function and overall purpose in the system?
2. Where is the function performed?
3. Who performs it?
4. What is it dependent on?
5. What depends on it?
Once you have a good understanding of your key functions, you can move on to impact analysis.
