When I first heard this tune I misunderstood the meaning of the lyrics as if it were from the perspective of some clairvoyant or higher power, warning the listener of the future. But I think it is meant to be from the perspective of the narrator, referring to themselves in third person and telling their sweetie that they are leaving! I couldn’t unhear my mystical misinterpretation though, so I leaned into it. The original writer of this song is unknown but the tune is called “Baby, did you hear?”
