Teaching stretches from young to elder. There is no old, unless you close your mind and soul. My mom is 91, and with the mind she has she still enjoys doing... dancing, eating, painting. Her memory is someone rusty, but show her a brush and paint and give her paper and let her learn again.

What am I up to? Giving my mother lots of attention, caring for her cockatiel, and grabbing a walk for self care. (Hugs)

Picking Concord grapes from the tiny vineyard in Betty Luckow's yard. My dad planted them years and years ago. They grow around one side of the yard. I tasted the purple ones ... delicious warmed by the sun and fresh off the vine.

A special day with a brilliant author, Joyce Maynard. I'm looking forward to reading her novel "How the Light Gets In."

Reflecting .... smiling ... yesterday my cousin Nanette Bulebosh gave me a beautiful gift of time. My mother got to spend the day with my brother and his wife while my cousin and I ventured to hear Joyce Maynard (Author) speak in Lake Forest. I am grateful for the kindness, support, and everything it took for a wonderful lady to drive several hours from Wisconsin just to bring a day of joy to me! (smile)

Art is good for all ages. I set out paper, some paint and brushes and look at mom at 90 paint!

Hi, Folks. I've received messages asking me if I have time to paint when I'm taking care of my mother. Yes, sometimes I set the paper out and invite her to paint with me. She's actually quite good! Something I didn't know about my mom.

When I paint I let go and see what comes up. Here we have the planet of the orange llamas.

Time to take a walk. Nothing like a green path to ease the soul.

Grabbed my brush pens for a quick 15-minute tea break. These moments fill my artistic cup... just a quick sip of sketching and I'm smiling. This is in a bookstore in Libertyville. Easy to sketch as folks aren't paying attention to me. Too involved with interesting book searches.

Today is a solar eclipse and I will be with mom in my childhood home town of Mundelein to watch this amazing event. Pretty Exciting! This area is said to get 90% of the eclipse.
Mom's exciting event is the turquoise toaster in background. To her this is what makes her day! Bagels and toast with her strawberry jam! Wohoo!
