Join us for a darn good time learning how to darn your clothes on Mar 28th from 10am-12:30pm at Leaven Community Center!

Darning is a kind of mending used for knitwear primarily. Mending is something we can all do, saving clothes from the landfill and healing our hearts in the process. Mending is a meditative, slow process that improves with practice.

Sivia will teach several methods during this workshop that you can use right away to start darning your socks, sweaters, and other knitwear. These darning techniques can also be used for mending other garments.

All skill levels are welcome, and we encourage you to bring your own items to work on, though we also provide practice items. All materials provided & you will go home with a little mending kit!

Join us Sunday, Mar 1st from 2-5pm for a hands-on workshop where you will learn to repair your ceramics with a modern take on an ancient art form. Limited seats!

Kintsugi (金継ぎ, gold joinery) is the Japanese craft of repairing ceramics. Fractures are no longer weak points, but beautiful elements. This philosophy is often taught as embracing imperfections in our life, the beauty of human flaws.

During the 3-hour workshop, you will learn how to repair ceramics with the modern Kintsugi methods finishing the joints with gold powder.

This class will be taught by Emi Joyce, formerly a full-time bench jeweler and apparel designer, currently a kintsugi restorer and a natural dyer. You can learn more about her kintsugi work via Instagram,
