Down Front is a unique shop located at 50 Island Ave., Peaks Island, Maine. We serve 21 flavors of premium Gifford’s Ice Cream along with special premium soft serve ice cream. Try some of our one-of-a-kind ice cream sundaes, like Rocky Maine Coast, The Nor’easter, Worms and Dirt, Moxie Sundae, or the Massive Flynn. Feel like relaxing? Lounge in our large collection of Adirondack chairs while enjoying the beautiful view of Casco Bay. We have an extensive collection of Peaks Island clothing, hats, souvenirs, posters and gifts. We also carry a wide selection of old fashioned candy, affordable toys, joke gifts, offbeat cards and local artwork. If you’re going to one of the many beaches on Peaks Island, stop by for cold drinks, sun protection, sunglasses or beach toys. If this is your first time on Peaks Island, stop by for pointers from our very friendly, local staff on what to do and where to go. We have maps and know the Island like the back of our hand. We also operate Lobster on the Roll, a food cart dedicated to serving the finest kind Maine “red snapper” hot dogs and super fresh lobster rolls.
